Sanctuary of Hope
Founded by 'Brother' Ignatious d'Jorasco 4 years ago, the sanctuary is situated on a promotary overlooking the river some 2.5 miles north of the village of High Barrow. It sits on the eastern banks and recently it has been discovered, occupies the site of ancient ruins.
The sanctuary is surrounded by a low wicker fence and sits out in the open. The fence is more decoarative and to show the sanctuaries boundries than to provide any form of defence.
The sanctuary comprises of approx 8 buildings and sevreal small outhouses used to house grain, animals etc. The sanctuary is self suffiecient and grows its own crop and rears its own animals for food, a small freshwater well has been cut into the rock to provide water from natural streams feeding the river.
Brother Ignatious runs the enclave, assisted by 10 staff, of which 3 are clerics of Olladra (lvl 5, 2Xlvl 3) 4 are experts (lvl 2), 1 is a magewright (lvl 2) the remainder are commoners(lvl1) as well as 6 guards (1 lvl 4, 2 lvl 2, 3 lvl 1 - all halfling warriors). 'Brother' Erinn Habe (exp 4) is not directly employed by Brother Ignatious, but works closely with him and is soley responsible for the sanitorium, a small 3 floored building nestled amongst the Sanctuary known officialy as the Saintly Haven of Respite. Habe, also a medic from the war, like Ignatious, has a keen interest in mental illness and deranged illness. He looks after patients who have lost their minds or gone mad through exposure to the horrors around the Reaches.
Habe currently has two long term occupants: Blind Sedge (an old familyless farmer) and Wald (a larger than life 97yr old man, totally senile). He is accompanied by two hired help - humans (war1) who assist him in daily chores.
Ignatious build a small church to the Host on the site. This building holds altars to all seven gods of the Sovereign host and holds festivals to each of the Gods as they come around through the year. During the excavation of the temples tombs inside the cliffe rock, other chiselled passages were discovered. On investigation these did not seem to go far due to a large cave which had occured several (10+) years earlier. A number of wards and alarms have been set upon the area around the collapsed tunnels incase something breaks through, though this has not happened since the enclave was built.
