Highbarrow:
The early large post gives some locations in the town.
As we get more familiar with the town, DM's can introduce these places or provide their own ones.
for example: the "Blue Fire Inn" replaced the "Wanderer's Rest".

Heron - background

History:

A border patrol in Valenar happened upon a vagrant child, barely old enough to walk.
The child walked confidently to the leader and raised his arms in mute request to be picked up.
The elf drew back his foot to kick the child away, but stopped abruptly; upon the palms of this child was branded a pair of herons, one on each palm.
These herons matched the decorations on the hilts of master swordsmen, but how did this child come by them?

They immediately took the child to a fighting monastery, the only people qualified to deal with the situation.

For years, the monks trained, tested, and watched the child grow. The child knew nothing of how he came to bear the brands, and the tests revealed nothing.

One day, a colossal golden dragon landed gracefully outside the monastery and talked for a few minutes with the father. The next day Heron left the monastery to travel to the far west and his destiny.

His destiny lead him to HighBarrow six months ago.
He sometimes makes his way to the "garden" for several hours private meditation and peace.

Description:

The figure standing before you appears a shade under six feet in height.
At first sight, the figure appears to be a Tairnadal warrior; a Valenar elf.
Clothed in loose silk of red and brown mimicking blood splatters, a veil covers the lower half of his face.
A silver amulet inlaid with jet hangs in the center of his forehead, the jet depicts a bird.
Upon closer viewing, the same bird in different poses is embroidered in various places on his clothing.
He carries the signature double scimitar of a Tairnadal warrior, engraved on the blades are profiles of herons and flowing elven script.

Heron counts his age from when he was discovered by the border patrol: 121 years.

Notes:

Valaes Tairn - Warriors of Glory
Zaelshin - Spirit Bond - Amulet bearing seal of patron ancestor
Zaelta - Spirit mask - Veil covering lower face
