Highbarrow:
The early large post gives some locations in the town.
As we get more familiar with the town, DM's can introduce these places or provide their own ones.
for example: the "Blue Fire Inn" replaced the "Wanderer's Rest".

The Hunters

There are five members of the Gatekeeper Hunters in the area around Highbarrow. They do not include a druid, although most Hunter groups are led by a druid. On the other hand they have a cleric which few groups of Hunters do.

Dale

Male Human Ranger 7

Whilst he hasn’t seen it all, Dale has seen most of it. He is around 40, well-built, with short sandy coloured hair and beard. Over the last twenty years he has helped in the battle to defend the Reaches from being overcome by one of the neighbouring states, as well as pursued his gatekeeper responsibilities. He has lots of energy and likes to get things done. He is a good leader because he listens to what the other Hunters have to say and communicates with them well. Nevertheless, he is a good decision-maker, and his judgement has been proven sound many times. He has sacrificed having an animal companion to take the distracting attack feat to better aid his team. He has a special relationship with the Gatekeeper elders (whom he likes to call HQ): he has a secret place where there is a communication device only he knows how to use, because he is a very limited spell-caster. Ordinarily, the gatekeepers use scrying and special divination magic to communicate. He would give his life to protect members of his team.

Tuuruum

Male Orc Fighter 4

Pretty much the monosyllabic fighter, he would be second in command of the Hunters if he thought more clearly. Instead, he is actually a rather cautious swordsman who relies heavily on his strength rather than guile. He is very loyal to Dale, and is pretty easy to manage, since he tends to do exactly what he is told (he would almost certainly defer to Alex or even Heron) if Dale were not around. Tactical thinking and innovative moves are not his forte. He just hits things with his sword when told to. At around 6’ 9” tall, stealth is also not a big feature of his style. He tends to get left behind when secrecy is necessary. His weakness is that if no-one is telling him what to do, he will make it up himself and he is not the sharpest pine-needle on the tree.

Draacht

Female Half-Orc Cleric 4

Given Tuuruum’s limitations, she is effectively the second-in-command on the team, even though she is not a very effective fighter. She is wise and thoughtful, heavily committed to the cause. Also, she is brave and at 6’ 1”, she looks more threatening than she really is. Like Dale, her judgement is usually sound and she provides the main source of healing for the team, not just through her spells, but her ability to brew potions, normally healing ones. It is to her that Dale would most listen and she who would take over leadership in his absence. Although confident in her role within the group, she is shy and not very forthcoming in a social role. She is rarely seen at the inn.

Badger and Vudraak

Male Human Scout 2 Female Orc Scout 2

Badger and Vudraak joined the gatekeepers at roughly the same time and did their basic training together. They are very firm friends (though that is as far as it goes), and spend a lot of time in playful competition. At times they even seem to think together like twins. Nevertheless, they have very different skills. Badger is the clever one, who relies on stealth and guile and uses his head when faced with difficulties. He has an enormous thirst for knowledge. Vudraak relies much more on strength and physical skills, though she is not stupid. This means that they complement each other when they work together, but give Dale different options if he needs them to work alone. Badger is slim and around 5’ 8” tall with short dark hair and clear blue eyes. Vudraak towers over him at 6’ 3” and is muscular but agile. Her eyes are a striking red/violet in colour.
